Camping!

desk-box1.gif

^^ that is funny.

Went camping this past weekend at Antelope Lake in Plumas County. Had a 4WD Explorer rental that always had 4, 5, or 6 people in it + full cargo + bags on the top. Luckily, I got one with Sirius satellite radio. I can't live without my 20/Octane, 21/Alt. Nation, 26/Left of Center, 35/Chill, etc. Rented some 140HP Jetskis on Lake Almanor... fastest rental I've ever been on for sure. The thing even had a tach (seemed to redline around 6500).

This weekend did not suck

I've been really lucky...

...getting upgraded to business class lately. On my flights to the East coast for the past few months, I'm averaging over 50%. A lot of that has to do with the fact that I fly in/out of San Jose instead of SFO (which is the '1K' [highest United frequent flyer status] capital).

Got seat 6C tomorrow on my flight from JFK to LAX. w00t!

The only thing worse than 100 degree weather

Is 100 degree weather on the east coast.  Holy balls sticking together Batman.

Car stuff.

Power was out for 20 1/2 hours...Sunday 9:30PM to Monday 5:00PM. It was hot.

Spent the day Saturday cleaning out the garage... then spent the day Sunday installing new shit:

1 - New Koni FSD shocks
2 - Rear shock mount gasket
3 - Turner Motorsport rear shock mount reinforcement plate (for good measure)
4 - New rear shock mount
5 - Upper shock bearing w/ Turner Motorsport anti-crowning reinforcement plate
6 - New bimmerworld control arms
7 - New Powerflex polyeurathane lower control arm bushings

Shuttle launch video

From the right-front rocket. Amazing.

Here's a commentary:

0:45 - water jets start streaming water into the Main Engine exhaust well in the launch pad(top-center of frame)
0:54 - Main Engine ignition. Violent, eh? The boosters haven't lit yet - and won't until the Shuttle's software says the main engines are running properly.
