My car needed new tires. Bad. I only got 10,000 miles out of this set. What can I say, I'm addicted to lateral Gs.
Luckily, a friend had two front tires in the type & size that I wanted barely used. Saved about $100 there.

....about to fly back to the states.
The Audi rental spent over 10% of its life on the track. The brakes were not doing well. The tires still seemed OK - overinflating them a bit helped with that. I need to buy anohter bike. Bren & Suzan at the Slider's Gust House are good people. I need more laps.

I don't have any pictures for you right now... but here's a summary of my trip thus far:
Tuesday, we landed at the Koln-Bonn airport and picked up my rental. I reserved a BMW 3 series, but ended up with an A6 Avant 2.7T TDI Automatic (Turbo diesel wagon). It's much bigger than I thought... and with the wrong transmission, but it moved well enough and had room for us 5. We drove to Amsterdam, spent 2 nights there. Hotel was quaint... good times.
In the past week, I've written >1000 lines of code - written PHP/MySQL. I developed an autocross classification and driver number web page for our BMW CCA chapter (of which I'm the autocross co-coordinator):
My CarPC is installed and works great. It consists of the following:
Here's a picture of me having some fun while the students were having lunch:
I highly recommend you all check out this YouTube movie - a presentation done by Karl Fisch about the state of the world, education, and technology. Very interesting.

These days, automatically downloading TV shows via BitTorrent technology couldn't be easier.
What a great day for a drive - we had 3 M3s, 2 330s, an M Coupe, and an STi that did a very fast run over Mt Hamilton. By the time we stopped at the end of the road on the back side, one of the M3's front brakes were billowing smoke. Mines Rd = the cheapest track around!
